Can you imagine being Cmdr Thelin? He's the Andorian First Officer of Enterprise under #JamesKirk. Probably been on countless adventures and gotten out of near death scrapes, maybe even helped save the timeline in a version of #CityOnTheEdgeOfForever.
Then the 2nd time Enterprise travels to the #GuardianOfForever, Kirk returns with some Vulcan, says he doesn't know who YOU are, and your whole career/life has been some time-travel accident?
He took it well.π€π

The pandemic has decimated tourism around the world. And Timbertown, on the mid-north coast of NSW, is just another that has fallen victim to the ongoing crisis. I remember when I first visited this attraction (many moons ago), it was a hive of activity. Lots of interesting things to see, lots to do. Now, itβs like a ghost town. Many who have worked there over the years have had to leave to find other means of supporting their family, and there have been no others coming in to replace them. Timbertown is a olden-day village, and as such, people who work there, like the blacksmith, possess a very unique set of skills. These people are not easy to find. Iβm a little sad about this one- https://youtu.be/TGjFGpnQXBE #experiences #life #tourism #touristattraction #wauchope #portmacquarie #timbertown #yesteryear #roadtrip #family #fun

Love this image. Life of #yesteryear. So much simpler, although life then after WW2 would have been very tough, yet exciting for hopes of the future.

Here we have the pier master's watch house, but all is not as it seems at this harbour office. Memory meets modernity.

I'm glad someone has said this.
Many have had to endure 4 months of #retail and #media hype over 1 day we don't wish to be reminded of.
Almost every day since the end of August, getting worse and worse as the 'big-day' approaches.
then ... "WooHoo it's Christmas!" Argghhh.
then immediately #media & #retailers pipe up about bl**dy sales !!!
Does it ever stop ???!!!!!!!!!!!
No wonder people long for the simpler days of #yesteryear.

Woodbridge & Mounsey

I could not walk by without capturing this. When Woodbridge and Mounsey of Kendal relocated they left behind this, a most wonderful abandoned looking building. Hard to believe this is the 2020's, 1960's yes, but not 2020's.

If you're in the Darley area and are in need of a contractor then you could give Walter Aldon and Sons a call. You might need to step back in time a bit though. The truck bearing the contact details is a 1950 Bedford K type lorry. Photographed in the 21st century, fresh out of the 20th.

Love found, Love lost

The great Al Bowlly sings 'Isle of Capri.' He didn't need a big orchestra to go jing-jing bang-bang. Just a pianist for accompaniment, but oh, such a great one, Monia Liter. The melody comes through clear and pure along with the delight and the heartbreak in his voice

Memory floats through our lives like an elusive butterfly.
When young we resist the chase. Our lives filled with enough novelty and colourful experience to negate the need for revisiting recent adventure. As we age the allure of prior escapade grows greater, balanced with the need of comfort. We chase our memories as we chase our youth; hope of capture balanced by the bitter lessons of experience.

Flops from #yesteryear are topping the streaming charts thanks to the digital revolution

Star Trek (The Animated Series) Yesteryear. At the time, Spock was very NOT-HUMAN. Very Vulcan. Now we know the Human side has been a weight to carry, and other Vulcans think him more human than Vulcan. I wonder if passing as full Vulcan in the episode was an issue for Spock.
