The Fortingall Yew stands in the churchyard of Fortingall Church near the east end of the attractive village of Fortingall in Perthshire. It is believed to be 5,000 years old and is quite possibly the oldest living thing on Earth. More pics and info: undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/for

4/x Iroko trees are also planted at shrines and other important locations, where they become sacred trees, and the Iroko is widely known as the in Nigeria (another Tree of Life - last week the , too!) In , though, where this picture is from, it is (somewhat confusingly!) one of the landmarks on the way to the Tree of Life ... (and looks a bit different too, so might have to check this!)

7/x Yew trees were also a favoured (very hard) wood for and , from times right to the middle ages and beyond. Even now, the German bowmaker Ulli Stehli travels to the forest in to get wood for his bows

3/x so decided to look into this a bit more - and, of course (as many of you here will know already) - came across so many wonderful old yew trees next to churches! I collected them all on Twitter - here just two of the most famous ones: two trees outside St Edward's Parish Church, Stow-on-the-Wold ...

Have been having issues with with especially stylist recently. This may mean work on the blog will pause for a bit. Seem there is a bug with 1.70 that impacts wasm environments. The workaround I can't seem to get to work with stylist. Maybe it's time to give a go given it seems to be an all in one solution and I do need to build a desktop app to make my life easier next week...

`The was revered by our ancient ancestors for its longevity, and because it remained green and vibrant, thriving in the harshness of winter when all other trees succumbed.
Through its roots, the tree secreted toxins and thus ensured that not much grew near it. These natural open spaces were perfect places for pagan rituals and ceremonies. Therefore, the yew was considered a "sacred" tree.`

Please enjoy this ancient tree, which has been shaped by many generations of artists over 200+ years into the form of a perfect cone. Yews grow very slowly. So (to me) this is an awe inspiring achievement.

Inside the portal, visitors are invited by a small sign on a bench under the deep shade of the tree's canopy to "Take a Seat". Perfect in case you would like to get away from it all for a while. I recommend it!

for more details.

What is the best stack in your experience for web applications? I haven’t decided what use yet but it seems like and might be the way to go.

Made an account for the website I’ve been working on to learn yew.rs… so uh, if you want to see a website that’s a much worse version of all the existing ADS-B trackers (mine doesn’t even have a map) checkout @planesoverme or go to planesover.me :)

Currently tinkering with to try to build a web client for my RSS Api.

Well, I need to read some stuff about some web context, as I am a total newbie on this.

But it's nice to write some instead of Javascript/Typescript
