Anyone else think it was really sad how Yuri Plisetsky reacted to Yuuko Nishigori's genuine friendship? He didn't believe that she was keeping him updated on Yuuri and Victor because Yurio is precious and deserves friends, he believed she was trying to get information from him.
When Victor comments that he's not the only person who found their “L" words in Hasetsu and with Yuuri, I am confident to say this is what he means.
I hope that Yurio internalizes that message. That friends are people who don't think about what you can do for them, save for being in their life.

You set up a chat, fully expecting the same downcast eyes and shy expressions of the previous Yuuri, the one you knew from Detroit. And sure, it starts out like that, because you're rehashing Yuuri's skating career. The one you knew about, and the one that is hard to talk about, when he crashed and burned.
Then though, comes the first mention of a name: Victor. You know he's talking about Victor Nikiforov--everyone knows that name, after all.
But what you're not expecting is the change. The way that the slumped shoulders straighten, the way that the quiet mumbles of replies are suddenly dancing from Yuuri's mouth, and he's smiling. No, it's more than that, he's lighting up. It's like he can't contain the joy that is exploding out of him talking about training with Victor, skating with Victor, planning with Victor, showing Victor around. It's so apparent that you almost mention it, but decide instead just to let Yuuri talk.
You can already tell your composition is changing. It's not about Yuuri's skating career anymore, per se, it's about love now. Because Yuuri is exploding with it.
You wonder if he hears himself, smiling and chuckling about "how Victor must not know how intimate putting his arm around a Japanese person is in an Onsen!", as if he truly does not understand that this probably goes both ways. In fact, you're sure of it.
Love that can explode out of someone talking about cleaning up stinky dog poop because a poodle snuck some fish speaks to two sides feeling love.
You thank Yuuri for the chat. You let him know that you will send him your composition in a couple of weeks. You tell him you'll be in touch if you need anything else.
But you don't think you do. Yuuri's love was abundantly clear on his face.
You can't wait to get to work.
Imagine you're Ketty Abelashvili, the composer who put together the music for Yuuri's skating career back in Detroit.
You're in school, trying to tease out of him anything that could help you, but he's so shy and withdrawn and seems to be completely allergic to talking about himself in ways that don't sound lukewarm and hard to parse.
So you do your best.
And are not all that surprised when Yuuri apologizes (profusely) that he can't use your composition for his skate. He's gone with something that Celestino gave him.
You're actually sort of relieved.
Then imagine, a year later, getting a message from Phichit Chulanont--you were friends with him in Detroit, because everyone was friends with Phichit--about Yuuri Katsuki. Apparently he wants to give you and your composition another try. He's offering to pay you this time too.
You're out of school now, and you're trying to make it professionally as a musician. It's interesting to hear Yuuri wants to try again, but you're definitely sweating bullets. Then again, you figure you have enough experience now that you can take what he's saying and fill in the blanks with themes and inspiration elsewhere.
So you say yes.
GAHHHH my brain decided it needs to do some more #yurionice meta today.
We know Victor arrived in Hasetsu with some <cough> expectations. Not his fault, obviously (a drunken dry hump BE MY COACH) will do that to someone, so it must have physically HURT to see Yuuri putting up walls and avoiding contact like that.
It threw Victor through a loop. We find out that he stayed up drinking all night a few times, and although at the time it was played as a "ugh irresponsible Victor", we know differently. It was because he'd made this giant leap and put his career on hold, and everyone in the press was talking about that.
Yet Yuuri wouldn't let him in (both figuratively and literally). That HURT, and I'd bet meant a couple of Nikiforov panic attacks.
Then Yurio arrives. And Victor has a chance to hit the emergency eject button.
What if Yuuri can't skate his choreography?
What if Yuuri doesn't let him in? Ever?
Victor can declare Yurio the winner and head back to Russia, experiment never completed. But we see his face just before Onsen on Ice starts: the fear that this was a bad idea.
I can't imagine the relief that must have washed over him when Yuuri pulled him in for that hug, just before heading out onto the ice.
And I can't imagine the surprise and joy Victor must've felt to watch Yuuri nail it.
At the end, as Yuuri stood and accepted his accolades, he visibly relaxed into Victor's touch.
Victor probably understood that he still had a long way to go, that this adventure was not going to look like what he thought it was going to look like, but that it was going to be okay.
And it fills me with such warm and snuggly goodness at everything that followed.

Anyone else here think that Yuuri sneaks kisses to Victor at basically every possible opportunity?
Because once he realizes that it's okay, but also that Victor WANTS those kisses? Yeah, Yuuri would be in heaven.

Bathing together in a hot spring is nothing out of the ordinary in Japan and follows strict rules, but bathing like that with your crush/idol every day must feel like living in your own fanfiction, and basically like a dream come true and the greatest agony at once! Like, imagine the pining! And the swooning! (and the peeking *coughs*)

I'm getting behind on the random #fandomthoughts! And I need another #yurionice thought.
Yuuri Katsuki is not a sexually timid uke waiting for Victor to be the big big seme man. Did you SEE the tie grab? Did you watch the way Yuuri demanded sightseeing?
Yuuri is as excited to be physical with Victor as Victor is withYuuri. They both instigate, they're both silly and they're both probably gross with the PDAs when they drink (well certainly according to Yurio).
It's okay for the world to be versatile. To switch when the mood strikes. To both WANT that contact. And that's definitely the way I picture #victuuri. Totally in love, totally mutually touchy, totally mutually seductive.

Time for a FLUFFY random #fandomthoughtoftheday and I am sticking with #yurionice for this one.
When they were practicing their pairs skate to Stammi Vicino, there is a 100% that they made out on the ice. A lot. Usually instigated by Victor, but not always.

Today's random #fandomthoughtoftheday is a #yurionice thought.
It is so so so impressive and amazing that Yuuri Katsuki skated as well as he did at Rostelecom.
Think about it. He gets a call from his sister, who is at the vet with Makkachin who is in a bad way. It's quite possible that this call is exactly the same call he got in Sochi, over a dog who in every way represented Victor AND Makkachin.
The lowest he's ever felt skating was Sochi, and it's possible that history is repeating itself. He sends Victor home (because Yuuri KNOWS how it feels not to be there) and he braces himself against the enormous emotional blow that is losing his coach and reliving his trauma.
No one will EVER be able to claim that Yuuri getting that score, and squeaking into the final was not Herculean.
Victor probably KNEW by then what happened in Sochi. And still Yuuri gave him up (and gave up his support) so that he could be with his sick pup.
It makes you wonder if THAT, watching Yuuri fight through his skate, is when Victor decided he wanted to spend his life with Yuuri.
It was certainly a great reason to sprint through an airport.

A bit of Yuri!!! On Ice meta I posted on #Twitter and #Tumblr
Yuuri not being canonically jealous like not minding his boyfriend taking photos with another guy at the pool is a testimony to his trust in Viktor. This, and the fact that likewise Viktor totally confides in Yuuri is a huge part of what makes their relationship so refreshingly mature and healthy. I love shows where adults act like actual adults and Yuri!!! deserves all the credit for this!

HM. Random #fandomthoughtoftheday today brought to you by #yurionice
Victor didn't initially realize just how much he touched Yuuri, just that being close to Yuuri soothed him in the same way stroking Makkachin soothed him.
It wasn't until Yuuri mentioned it, asking if it was a Russian thing? that Victor realized how much he did it.
But the moment Victor tugged his hand away though, Yuuri smiled and just said "I like it."
That just made them touch even more. ♥️

Today is a good day for a random #yurionice thought.
Yuuri is not timid about his attraction to Victor. Sure, at the beginning when Yuuri convinced himself it was all a tease he was confused, but the second it was clear? No.
In character or out of character, the man was not shy about letting everyone know that he wanted Victor (and that he HAD Victor.)
