at least for me. Today is the 1 year mark of going full time linux on my desktop. @EndeavourOS for 365 days. No signs of stopping either.

Will the #SteamDeck achieve what no other device did: make the #YearOfTheLinuxDesktop (#YOTLD?) a reality?

I still consider myself much more of a power user than the average computer user, and far less of a power user than the average user capable of giving advice or instructions on how to use Linux.
It seems like there's an inverse correlation where the better you are able to manage a Linux desktop system, the fewer features you are actually interested in using.
Has the time finally come? Do you think the Tech Illiterate Relative™ could be coaxed into Linux? #yotld
People who joke about The Year Of Linux on desktop?
We are at the point where Linux is much more attractive alternative to Spydows. M$ is screwing up badly with the worst updating model in the history of OS computing.
Valve (Steam) are pushing Proton / Steam Play.
Devs support Linux more and AMD are improving their Linux drivers.
It is a mere matter of time when Vulkan (the DirectX hunter) is to become an industry standard?

Ha, they started a #yotld channel at work because some new hires are Linux users. Our numbers are increasing. It surprised me. Several years ago, most devs I worked with were running Linux by choice and that changed to the point where I felt like a weirdo for still using Linux (everyone had adopted macbook pros running the stock OS). #linux
