One of my favorite non true crime podcasts is You Are Good, a feelings podcast about movies. The hosts are Sarah Marshall and Alex Steed. It’s so good. A pauze from everything bad in the world, it’s soft, understanding and well thought.

I’ve gotten some weird random podcast-to-calendar alignment lately, both involving Sarah Marshall (don’t know if she’s here). On April 5, I was listening to a 2018 episode of #YoureWrongAbout about Kurt Cobain, and did not know until it was mentioned in the episode that it was the anniversary of his death. And earlier today, in the #YouAreGood episode from the JoCo Cruise, they went off on a very irreverent “died for our sins” bit (and of course today is Easter). Weird timing there, Universe.

I can't believe it took this long for #YouAreGood #podcast to finally do a #Newsies episode, but it was so worth waiting for. I loved Sarah talking about her first fandom, and I was thrilled when the discussion turned to the way that #fandom grows in the cracks of canon.

Messy canons make for the best fandoms! I may love to watch those tightly-written, perfectly-scripted prestige TV shows, but they don't have any fannish launching pads. They don't spark creativity.
