The diversity in #StarTrekDiscovery is one of its biggest strengths. I am happy to see it even if it doesn't always work because so many shows don't even try. It reminds me of #YoungJusticePhantoms aka #YoungJustice season 4.

It can get cringe at times to watch writers, directors, and editors learning about this stuff for the first time do ham-fisted things but it's also clear that at least some of them get it on a deeply personal level and they're trying to make it work on TV.
