I quit my cushy U.S gov't job to go to Viva Las Vegas, circa 1999-2000. Played poker and Blackjack, made three months rent, got my room comped--what more could one ask for?

I knew this guy , Chris, that would go to the mall, go into the local drugstore, and slip record albums under the side door (which didn't open), and then dumpster dive for receipts that would allow him to return the records for cash. He tried to rope me in on the scam, but I had none of it. I wonder what made him like that.
Of course, I was dealing weed at the time, so there's that.

Did you ever smoke these Djarum clove cigarettes, from, I think, Indonesia?
They were classy; came in a tin, like from England or something, & they sparked like a firecracker when you hit a clove fragment.
In the 80s, if you rented an apartment, you would have to completely repaint the joint in hopes of eliminating the odor and getting your damage deposit back.
They used to say one Djarum was = to 20 regular cigarettes in terms of tar.
Damn, how am I even alive?
