Transphobia against trans kids is structurally and socially supported not only by transphobia in general, but by anti-youth ageism as well. Minors can't vote or run for office, often can't live on their own, often have their money and possessions confiscated by parents and teachers. Forcing a trans child to detransition "for their own good" seems completely reasonable to parents, who think dominating and disciplining children is just their right as parents. Cishet white abled children are routinely disempowered; being a child with any other kind of marginalization is REALLY rough. #youthrights
