Indeed. Not a simple thing to do nowadays. Although I believe you can download an offline installer from some online gamestore. I believe GOG does that.

Even physical copies of your favorite (console) game requires you to have an internet connection. Either by activating it or require you to download the rest of the game. Or both. Same goes for regular software that is now becoming more and more a SaaS product where you have pay a subscription.
