In my photographs the spaceship models are usually shown from some distance. The illusion of realism in closeups doesn't work that well when paired with real live backgrounds.

Closeups alone however, are kinda neat. I think.

Playing with various sorts of machinery in the garage, vehicles for many purposes.

You know, if I won the lottery (I don't play but if I did) I would probably spend some of it to have a big garage and make a 1:1 size replica of the X or the Y.

I had a long break not finishing any models since my youth. Two decades went by until this little 1/72 scale Y-wing came along.

This was the first of this new era of digital cameras and Photoshop or whathaveyou. I liked how this worked and bought another model. Then another… It happens easily.

Now, 13 years later, I still love to photograph my spaceships on snow.

Come to think of it, it is a wonderful winter weather right now. Inspired, I will post more of these snowy sights.

The Y-wing is one of those things, it’s a spaceship I have done the most research on. This one is partially built using accurate donor parts from vintage model kits. These days you can find information on such things fairly easily but at the time it was, as I called it, pure pop culture archaeology.

Same location, different season, two variations of a theme.
