Good news at #yyccc - the NOM to derail one of the task force recommendations failed to get approval to go forward.

Bad news - https://www.calgary.ca/social-services/low-income/housing-needs-assessment.html is out and data confirming what you're hearing isn't comforting.

"an annual income of $84,000 is needed to adequately afford average market rent in 2023. That number has increased from $67,000 in 2022.”

Single Income average in AB in 2021 was $59,000. Median was $42,700.
Household income average was $98,000.

The City of Calgary’s Housing Strategy will come to committee on September 14, 2023. Join Project Calgary in telling Council to support these expert recommendations.
