So weird to live in a time where so many material things are both worthless and valuable at the same time, depending on what generation you're in.
Get rid of everything to be minimalist.
Archive everything so history isn't lost.
A popular saying us "A library isn't a museum."
But how often are important books in museums?
More importantly, who decides what's important enough to keep?
And art isn't just the object. It's the years of practice and learning.

Agree with your first sentence.
My workaround is to use my modified Library of Congress classification system of tags, like #tr_photography
No other people seem to use it so I can find what I've tagged for myself pretty easily. For now.
I reply to a post with a movie character and that same movie character shows up in my timeline *twice*, no relation to my reply.
Coincidence?
Absolutely, but freaking weird, man!
I use "Lists" as personal "subject headings". I tried to add a #hashtag instead of an account and that didn't work. I like being able to follow hashtags on my home feed, but I would like to have a function like "Lists", but more like and LC classification or even Dewey Decimal for browsing instead searching.
I'd like to have the hashtag #News in a list so it doesn't overwhelm my home feed, but I can look in on it without having to type it in.

How can Project ENABLE (Expanding Nondiscriminatory Access by Librarians Everywhere) make a difference at your library? https://news.nnlm.gov/region_7/2022/06/27/how-can-project-enable-expanding-nondiscriminatory-access-by-librarians-everywhere-make-a-difference-at-your-library/
Helped out a small town small church with logging their physical collection. Helped that before 2010 it was already in good order. Sad that it stopped because of a person's passing.
Encouraged them to go through all the photos and have small parties to add paper attached with the photo location, date and who ever they recognized before digitizing them.
Knowing who came before is important in small churches and towns, if only to see how things change.

with the Dewey Decimal System and others with the Library of Congress System.
Searching alone is not enough. Browsing by subject and nested information has been useful for a long time for a reason. I wish public and academic libraries would add this beyond just subject headings, too.
