I could be picking up sts for the final part of #ZabetShawl1 but I am now paralyzed by the thought that I won't know what I'm doing and will mess it up. Uuuuuugh brain!!!!
@gannet I love to knit and read or knit and watch! I'm not great at complex knitting while doing it, but I can do a set RS pattern with a purled or knit WS. #ZabetShawl1 has been great kdrama knitting bc it's been simple enough that I can read subtitles.
(*stares longingly at cozy shawl, wishing it were fall already so more knitting could be done on it*)
Finished up the right hand wing of #ZabetShawl1, which means I am officially 2/3 through it! It has been 90°F around here lately, so it is officially too damn hot to knit. I'll come back to this once the temperature is more reasonable.
Wahey! I have reknitted the right hand wing of #ZabetShawl1 to at least the point of where I had stopped (and cut the yarn) before.
ICYMI: It's a modular, garter stitch shawl made with 3 triangles, 2nd triangle was shorter than I liked so I frogged it and had been reknitting with decreases every 4th row instead of every 2nd row. Check out #ZabetShawl1 for details/photos.
Saw a lovely crescent moonrise on the way home this morning, got some knitting in over coffee, and hope to sew in this neckline this afternoon. Shaping up to be a good day!

I had figured out the decreases in the redo of the left-hand wing of #ZabetShawl1 but wasn't able to work on it immediately. When I picked it up today, my notes made no sense. I started again, refigured the decreases, re-read my #knitting, and am 8 rows into this 20 row starting section.
The #ZabetShawl1 was 2/3 complete, but now it's 1/3 complete, and every time I suggest picking it back up to work on it, my brain hisses at me like an angry cat.
Thanks, brain!
Well.
I finished the right-hand wing. It was well-knitted and I didn't forget any decreases, etc., & it fit nicely over my shoulder, but...
I realized this morning the reason why I hadn't taken a photo or picked up stitches for the other wing was because I wasn't happy. So while having my coffee, I ripped the whole thing back to the pick-up row.
I'm going to reknit it and put decreases every 4 rows instead of every 2, to make it longer.

At some point when #knitting yarn with lots of rows between color changes, I get to blind to my progress. The best solution for this is to add a stitch marker when I start knitting so that I can see how far I go each day. The right-hand wing of #ZabetShawl1 really feels like it's taking forever to get through this olive green/brown "stripe". Whew.
#Knitting progress on #ZabetShawl1. I guess this is technically a #fiberurary post because earth tones are my favorites (green and orange being my most favorite) & I am a complete sucker for stripes.
I wanted to get a spread out photo, so the base triangle & where I picked up for the right hand wing could be seen clearly. You can also see that the wing is not a true triangle bc there are decreases to help shape the shawl around the back of the neck. They will be mirrored on the left hand wing.

#Knitting progress for #ZabetShawl1 ! This is the right-hand wing of the #shawl.
First photo was taken in natural light on a very gray day. Second photo was taken indoors with fairly warm light. The true color, as always, is somewhere in between.
Quick #knitting update: The base triangle on #ZabetShawl1 is almost too big to photograph! About 28" on the short sides, making the hypotenuse about 40".
Hi everybody playing along at home, it looks like in the poll, Option A is the clear winner, but there are several comments expressing support for Option B, too, so it's a bit more neck-in-neck! I realized I felt a little disappointed about it being A, so I think B is the way to go.
Thank you so much to everyone for being a sounding board & getting involved! I hope this was as fun for you as it was for me! I'll keep posting updates as I knit. Follow #ZabetShawl1 if you'd like them in your TL.
