taught myself to play No.2 (Papageno's) aria from the Magic Flute on the steel tongue drum today - was not too difficult to figure out the right keys. Now for the harmonies, that's a bit trickier.

This engraving (c1794) depicts Act II, scene 28, of #Mozart’s ‘#Zauberflöte’, and is the last in a set of 6 scenes from the #opera that circulated in a contemporary journal (1795). I discuss these images in my chapter to the forthcoming Cambridge Companion to the #MagicFlute.
