I've just read this #novel by Vladimir #Zazubrin and I feel I should preach about it. A thing that shocks me is how poorly known it is. As far as I can find, these are the only #translations in Western European languages, the #Wikipedia page about the author doesn't even have an English version. Decades of #censorship by the #USSR worked.

This should be a classic of mandatory reading, the other side of "If this is a man" by Primo Levi, the view from the executioner.
