I use a #Zigbee network at home, but I wanted to migrate from a #ZHA controller to a #Zigbee2MQTT controller. At first I thought I could have both controllers plugged in to a machine running #HomeAssistant during device migration, but only through failure I realized I have to unplug the #ZHA controller first. There is no way for them to coexist, even though they'd have distinct channels, panIds and other parameters.

Laut Doku soll der zwei Geräte produzieren, #ZHA registriert aber nur ein Farbtemperatur kontrollierbares Gerät. Irgendwas, was ich da debuggen kann?

Is it just me, or when others restore a @homeassistant@fosstodon.org @homeassistant@a.gup.pe backup, their devices are unavailable? It doesn't matter if it is a #Zigbee #ZHA integration or a #WiFi #Tasmota integration device, I have to readd every device when the backup is restored. It would be nice if there was a way to not to have to go through this.

If you are having trouble with a Moes 4 button scene switch using #ZHA under #HomeAssistant, where it's logging "on" and "off" sent instead of individual buttons... Pair it first. Then, Press and hold the 2 left side buttons till stuff starts blinking. If it starts logging events with { } and numbers in it, you're good. Use automations as normal, works without a blueprint!
AND - it didn't fuck over my other button like it did when I used it under Tuya's apps

Yesterday I was feeling it so I migrated from my cheap Sonoff #Zigbee stick to the #HomeAssistant #SkyConnect . I used the directions below although I started on the "Migrate" section because I was already using #ZHA.

It went much smoother than I was expecting. Although the docs tell you that all the entities will be renamed and not work in Automations and Dashboards, that must be only if you come from Zigbee2MQTT. Mine stayed the same and everything **just worked**.

I recently set one up with #HomeAssistant #ZHA. Shows as a Tuya RH3040. Runs off of one CR2450.

Impressed with its small size and and a base with good articulation. It has a decent 1 minute cooldown, which should be good enough for most automations.

@PossiblyMax Actually it is easier than that because I'm already using #ZHA. I assumed I would have to re-pair everything, device by device. Looks like I can just "migrate radio" and away I go! I had no idea it was this easy, thanks for point that out.

New toys has arrived this week: #Zigbee USB dongle, two sockets and temperature/humidity sensor. I've just connected them to the #HomeAssistant using #ZHA.

First impression: it just works.
In case you are a newbie regarding the #SmartHome applications, please keep in mind, the distance requirement for pairing is much more stricter than for regular usage. ~2.5m is OK. ~5.5m is too long. But that's only for pairing. After that there was no problem with communication between ground floor and the attic, even before adding more devices and establishing a mesh network.

#zigbee2mqtt verliert immer mal wieder random die Verbindung zu Devices und kann diese auch nicht wieder aufbauen.
Langsam aber stetig verabschieden sich dann immer mehr Geräte.

Im Normalfall reicht es, z2m einfach neu zu starten. Meistens verbinden sich dann alle Geräte innerhalb von Minuten wieder von ganz allein.

Komischer Bug.

Im neuen Haus werde ich wohl #zha testen.
Das hat zwar weniger Features, ist aber hoffentlich stabiler.

#ZHA integration has zigbee visualization built-in. But I'm using #zigbee2mqtt integration which doesn't show zigbee network (or, I couldn't find it).

I followed the instructions here:

and now I can see it.
As I suspected - zigbee smart plug acts as a router because it is closer to end devices than zbdongle.

Finally some holiday days off to tinker with home automation:
Installed #Mosquitto broker, #zigbee2mqtt and transferred all my #zigbee devices from #aqara hub to #sonoff 3.0 zbdongle-p USB stick.

Z2M installation in #homeassistant is more complex than #ZHA (works out of the box), but it supports more devices.

2023 goal: to have all home devices under 'one roof' (#homeassistant), to get rid of cloud access and multiple mobile apps.

My #Skyconnect arrived today. Directly began switching to #ZHA within #homeassisant and getting rid of other bridges.

Trying to make my #Zigbee devices work via #NodeRed in #HomeAssistant. What should the stack look like? A, B or C?

I am using option A, I can automate via the #ZHA UI, but can't guess the entity name string in NodeRed (using an IKEA #TRÅDFRi Shortcut button and a #Sonoff USB dongle) Do I need #Zigbee2MQTT (and is it an "integration"? Can't find it.)

What have I learned today?
ZBDongle-P works great with #zigbee2mqtt, ZBDongle-E works best with #zha (zigbee home automation) on #homeassistant
