#Ukraine's parliament has approved the appointment of Rustem #Umyerov as the country's new defense minister. Ukrainian lawmaker Yaroslav #Zheleznyak said that a large majority supported Umyerov after he was nominated for #MoD by President Volodymyr #Zelenskyj.

Umerov is the first Crimean Tatar to hold this post. Previously, he was head of the State Assets Fund.
