The chief accountant of #Poltava Mining and Processing Plant, part of #Ferrexpo group, was charged with tax evasion and forgery, #Ukraine's Security Service (SBU) reported on Feb. 2.

#Ukrainian billionaire #KostyantynZhevago is the controlling shareholder of the iron pellet producer #Ferrexpo.

❗️The #French court released ex-MP, billionaire #KostyantynZhevago on bail of one million euros. He will surrender his two passports and report to the police when called. #Zhevago wants to appeal the request for extradition to #Ukraine.

The #Ukrainian authorities have seized property belonging to Mr #Zhevago. He's denied wrongdoing. Earlier this year, the magazine Forbes listed him as #Ukraine 's fourth richest person, with a fortune it estimated at $ 1.3 billion.

#Ukraine 's authorities say police in France have detained a wealthy Ukrainian businessman whom they're trying to #extradite. Ukraine's State Bureau of Investigation says Kostyantyn #Zhevago -- a former MP -- was detained at a hotel in the ski resort of #Courchevel. Officials suspect him of involvement in embezzling $113 million from a bank.
