Second attempt at a fitted pouch to go with the wooden name puzzle.
First attempt was too small because I was distracted by screeching birds outside, and made a measuring mistake.
This time, despite birds flying into the windows, I didn't mismeasure, and also did my first curved #zipper 🎉

Exactly! I also found that working around the ends of the zipper might need a little tweaking. That might be pulling too tight. I’m not sure how to get around that.
Here’s the other one. I took a screenshot and grabbed the link. This person crochets two separate panels and joins them afterwards.

I agree, it’s not perfect. I’m fairly new to crocheting so this took some practice. I thought it was just my inexperience that was messing me up! My first one puckered and was wavy, like yours. It’s the mosaic one and is still unfinished.
The second one bowed at the zipper, so I took it completely apart, and started over. Tinna said to sew it fairly tight, but I felt like that contributed to the bowing. When I re-sewed it I pulled the stitches it so it was *just* snug, but not tight. Came out much better. Still not perfect though.
This method does have its flaws. I think it’s a trial and error thing. And yes, the stitches are upside down, but I’m okay with that - depending on the stitch. I did the star stitch on my second one, but messed up - might have turned it inside out at the end! 🥴 oops!
I have since found another zipper tutorial that might be even better. I’ll find the link if you’re interested.

When your neighbor takes his love of carnivals to the extreme, it can be a bit...interesting. I just want to say, these Zipper rides are LOUD, as are the screams of those trapped inside. Thankfully, the Zipper is now gone and only the rollercoaster remains, unused. I used to worry that the next Final Destination event might happen - & land in our yard.
