I think the next step in my #degoogle effort is starting to take direction. I've been looking at various #email options and I'm leaning towards #Zoho mail. They have the privacy/security stuff you would expect, but also seem to have all of the stuff I'm looking for to handle multiple addresses from multiple domains in one place. And cheap!

Anyone have any feedback, pro or con, about Zoho?

MXroute is a good option, but the owner (Jarland) is not into hand-holding for newbies, and one really has to know what they're doing.

Like you, I was intending to move all my domains out of Gandi when the price was right, but of course I didn't - and now I've got just a few domains with them that I don't intend renewing anyway.

Unfortunately I did not get time to write the blog post tonight that I wanted to. When I got home, I saw an update that needed to be applied to #Lemmy and that went smoothly. Took all of 3 minutes. It took 3 hours to migrate away from that shitty email provider I was using to another one that does big things like actually work. #Zoho is a great deal at 1.50 per month for 10GB of space and I can continue to use my own domain. Only downside is paying for a full year but 15 bucks still isn't bad.

Update: about 30 min after I created a replacement Gmail & advised my regular contacts of the new info, #Zoho finally reactivated my account, with a condescending lecture about being more judicious about who I email. Again, everyone I allegedly "spammed" was someone I knew personally and professionally and was voluntarily involved with the org I am leading; none of this was unsolicited or even marketing -- it was business.

Thanks Zoho, that'll make it easier to migrate over. We're done.

I don't do this often: I recently took leadership of a professional organization. As a result, I've had a lot of email exchanges over the last few weeks with the board that I now lead. Somehow, my email provider has decided I'm a spammer and frozen my account. After 8 years with them.

Cannot recommend #Zoho as an email provider currently. They apparently will just randomly freeze you out on a whim for exchanging emails with a fixed set of people who have opted in to those emails. 🤷

I've started using a new browser, #Ulaa from #Zoho is on the way to becoming my daily drive. It's fast, compatible, and secure. It's still early in it's development but it's Chromium based and hence can tap into that ecosystem. See my comments on my tech blog. https://techalignment.com/id-rather-switch-my-browser-than-fight/

Switchting my e-mail provider from mailbox.org to Zoho was really easy. Now I can share my domain with others but also use catch-all for me. Pricing seems fair so far and the Webinterfaces for Users/Admins look polished.
