@cube_drone I spent much of the evening and morning today reading/watching reviews. I think I'd buy the smaller #zojirushi if I knew for sure nobody would find out how much I paid for a rice steamer.

I actually found a review that compared our existing terrible one to the Z and then another #consumerreports one in the middle that I already had in my cart.

I did the responsible thing, but I'd still kinda like a singing robot rice butler.

After at least a decade my 2nd hand Zojirushi water boiler died. New one plays songs like my rice cooker! #teaaddict #zojirushi

@leah I’ve baked all the bread for our family since the pandemic started. I consider our #Zojirushi breadmaker an impressive baking partner. The thing turns out perfect loaves with a minimum of fuss. Can one ❤️ an appliance ?

Tfw when you realize the rice has been in the rice cooker for over 24 hours
And decide you may as well double down; it can't be eaten anymore anyway
So it's still there the next day
And you can't even bear to look at it
Before you know it the rice cooker has been on for 3 days
You're never allowed to use the rice cooker again.

For all of you on tenterhooks, waiting to find out what happened with the new #Zojirushi rice cooker last night: the rice came out perfectly, but like all white rice — utterly devoid of flavor. But that’s to be expected.

With some curry and onions, it was exactly right. (If visually unappealing.)

Our old rice cooker began to crap out, so I decided to go whole hog and get the best to replace it.

First test batch of rice shall be smothered in curry, which is about the only way I find rice edible.

Tried out the new #zojirushi #ricecooker my parents gave me for #Christmas tonight. VERY nice. Big improvement over the old one (which was a hand-me-down and had a part missing), most especially bc it doesn't leak nasty gray water/sludge all over the place. 😬

It even plays a little tune when it's done cooking the rice, which means Tim now refers to it as "The Speak N Spell." 😂

I'm #Cajun and I cook a lot of #rice. Most things I make are either Cajun, #Creole, or Asian dishes, served on or with rice. Most every day I make a few cups.

I have a #zojirushi that is absolutely amazing. It makes the best rice I've ever had...perfect every time. But more often I make my rice on the stove. It's faster (17 mins vs. 30-45) and close enough to the quality (I'd say, 3.5 to 4 if the zojirushi is a consistent 5).

How much of a monster am I for making my own rice?

Used the Quick cook option on the #Zojirushi for the first time. Feeling a bit rebellious.
