Into the fifth week of training block, realized that I had not written the dates in on my printed off wall plan.
Well HELLO extra week of training! I'm only in week FOUR! The disappointment in myself for not being able to count weeks is totally replaced by the joy of an extra week of training and knowing that the elevation I did last weekend was BONUS elevation! Happy Tuesday to me!

Tossed on the sneakers and headed out for a slow-cat shuffle for the first time in two weeks, my last run being a 58.85km with 1494m climbing. I can't describe the joy just grabbing my socks was as I got ready. Even single moment from start to finish was so damn good. Easing back into it as I start the build again towards #UTHC80 in September. So grateful to grind out this training block!

So Garmin default settings have #zone2 #training at 60-70% of your #HeartRate (#HR) while Dr. Attia has it at 70-80% and Dr. Luks has it at 65-75%. This will be so much fun for everyone who has no lactate meter available and still wants to know what their #mitochondria are up to.

Starting to become more acclimated to Zone 1 warm ups and cool downs. I was pretty much walking almost all my Zone 1 the first few weeks, and now it’s a very slow jog, so I’ll take it. The Zone 1 bookends make a lot of sense for Fartlek runs and speed work.
The weather feels moody today, like it wants to snow. I’ll take it as an excuse to relax in warmer clothes for the day.

At the end of 5 weeks of Zone 2 training and I’m finally starting to feel like myself again. Ending the week on a high note always feels like a win. Traversed a few hills, stared at some amazing cloud formations, and got back before the rain set in.
