@bike Apparently, it's a period of cold that triggers the separation into cloves.
I didn't succeed growing #garlic with cloves before I planted them in autumn. Spring planted garlic mostly formed just one bulb for me - #zone7a .
However, I would categorise this as "anecdotal" evidence. Anyone else?

It's honeysuckle season in Oklahoma! This bunch actually came with my house, it didn't flower much last year bc I cut it back to the ground. It has tons of flowers this year

Exciting 1st results of the #potato trial:
Bed with slightly better developed plants (left) was planted 16 Apr directly into #compost. The other was planted 31 October last year with tatties freshly harvested on another bed into compost. The bed received a new layer of compost of ~4cm in Dec.
All October tatties sprouted. Depth at planting 5-10cm.

If the yield is comparable, the autumn planting at harvest will save me storage and time.

The weather forecast predicts stormy, rainy conditions. So before closing up the mini #polytunnel, I had a quick morning pick of #SaladGreens for later in the day.
The complete re-design of the veg patch meant I had a late start to the season this year and no over-wintering veg. Still, the mini tunnel and greenhouse have produced ~2kg of #salad in 3 weeks and the #lettuce is just kicking in. #AsiaGreens in the greenhouse are beginning to shoot.

We have had some cold spells in #MiddleTennessee which have caused a delay in me getting some of my plants into the #garden. Hoping that the #tomatoes and #basil can be planted next weekend. 🤞

Raised bed filled with manure and fresh soil. Also laid out the irrigation lines and set up some frames for the cucumbers. Next weekend I pick up plants from the local 4H club but I’ll wait a week to put them in. Our forecast next weekend has temps in the 30s overnight. #MiddleTennessee #gardening #zone7a
