A bunch of #fossils for #Fossilfriday, gifted to me by my colleague from the #zoologischesmuseumzürich. Due to incompleteness or lack of documentation they were deemed to not be scientifically useful, so rather than throwing them away to make storage room they decided to gift them for my private collection instead. At left is a piece of a #mammoth tooth, there‘s a few #ammonites and #brachiopods from Morroco and Switzerland and some #crinoid stems from #Spitzbergen. #paleontology #museums

Notatesseraeraptor frickensis, a small Triassic theropod only known from Switzerland. A proto-averostran with a mix of coelophysoid and dilophosaurid characters, hence the complicated name, which means “Mosaic-Trait-Raptor”. I chose to depict it with fuzz based off @ScottHartman et al.’s 2020 paper on Triassic theropod physiology.
