The #comet C/2023 E3 (#ZTF) is down to about 10 mag. - but minutes ago I could catch it once more with a Panasonic #Lumix DMC-FZ300 bridge camera sitting on a tripod with maximum zoom: this is the best of many images, 3.2 seconds at f/2.8. The bright star on the left is Mu Eridani.
This evening #comet C/2023 E3 (#ZTF) was even harder to detect with my super-simple equipment than yesterday ... but it is again, marked in the best single frame - 1.3 seconds at f/2.8 and ISO 6400 with maximum zoom - I got out of the Moon- and city-brightened sky. Could well be the last image for me ...
Yay, got #comet C/2023 E3 (#ZTF), now down to 8-9 mag., one more time with the DMC-FZ300 on a tripod, at maximum zoom and ISO 6400 and even 3200 - short exposures were necessary due to its low decination = high angular speed in the sky. And the moonlight also didn't help but still: here - following some robust gamma increases - it clearly is! So long, on your way out of the solar system.
A little late to the “Green Comet” party as I've been learning how to capture and process comets for the first time, and it's been a fun effort. Check out my capture of C/2022 E3 (ZTF) including 15 minutes of integration time for each of RGB channels. The image was captured on February 11th, and more detail can be found here: https://wp.me/p2dYHY-1FW.

The 'performance' of comet C/2023 E3 (#ZTF) discussed in detail in http://fg-kometen.vdsastro.de/koj_2022/c2022e3/22e3eaus.htm - the peak magnitude near perigee near 4.9 *was* what was widely predicted in the days after its discovery, by the way.

Another very clear evening in #Bochum, Germany ... and so here is #ZTF again, close to a 9.75 mag. star and near #Aldebaran and the #Hyades: all images with a Panasonic #Lumix DMC-FZ300 at f/2.8 and various zoom settings (35 mm equivalent focal lengths given; images cropped moderately) - some more pictures are also in https://www.facebook.com/dan.fischer.393/posts/pfbid0QviziYzpAr7KTrEenTFVBAjNRocgmVv9Ge6k4D91jdmEgrtFYUK3qbDqg8LdH3akl

okay okay okay... i did it... i finally imaged comet ZTF 🤷
don't get distracted by this RGB stars - the comet is very very quick moving and if you have a monochrome camera, you have to decide what you want colored. the stars or the comet 🙂
Faded comet #ZTF visiting the open star cluster NGC 1647 and approaching the Hyades cluster on the evening of 13 February 2023: images from Bochum, Germany, with a Panasonic DMC-FZ300 on a tripod, on lhe left at 2 seconds at f/2.8 and ISO 6400, max. zoom & cropped a bit, on the right 5 seconds at f/2.8 and ISO 3200. In 11x70 binoculars both the comet - approaching 7.0 mag. now - and NGC 1647 were just at the limit of visibility with averted vision in the given very clear but also (sub)urban sky.
