Moin! 66 km 🚴‍♀️ and several hours in drizzling rain wasn't that much fun, especially, since I found only 15 's and 11 .
Last year this time I had 77 bewicks on my patch.

Moin! Very interesting day.
No 's swans at the roost in the bog in the morning, seems, they slept in flooded fields around.
Day started not that bad, but very difficult conditions in the afternoon.

Moin,
since 14-Dec 2022 we had increasing number of wintering 's and swans feeding near the roost (nature reserve) on rapeseed (farmland, about 3 km away).
1-Jan 2023: c57 bewick's, c110 whoppers.
7-Jan 2023: ... all gone, chased away by farmer :(
Found some few on another field nearby today.
Bewick's swans are in decline and according to IUCN criteria globally vulnerable species.

Heute startete die Winterzählung. Bin hier zwar nicht im Hauptrastgebiet, aber immerhin: 23 Zwergschwäne, darunter 5 diesjährige am Schlafplatz.
Ein ziemlich kalter, langer und wunderschöner Tag mit dem in der Natur unterwegs.
