A friend who DJ'd at the local shitkicker/frat bar asked me to fill in for him one Friday afternoon at their legendary Happy Hour—quarts of draft Bud for 50¢.

#ZZTop - El Diablo. Good dope smoking music from when ZZ Top were in top form. RIP Dusty Hill. I liked how they knew that side of Texas. If you didn't mess with drugs in my friend circle you at least knew about it. I used to hear stories about landowners having a padlock on the gate for the traffickers, along with the ones for the oil company and utilities.

Were you in West Texas back then? It was so free there back then. You could put in the river anywhere you wanted. You could drive 100 mph everywhere & (almost) never get a ticket. You knew there was drug shit happening all around but it was so big and empty you didn't really worry about it. I listen to #ZZTop and think about that. They knew that side of Texas.
